As the sun set tonight our lovely birds had no idea they were savouring their last taste of freedom for several months (I guess). It had to happen sometime but we have a confirmed case of H5N1 Avian Flu in the area and we just fall into the 10 Km Surveilance Zone. So now inside are a weird collection of chickens of various ages, 3 cockerels (I've told them the red wine is on stand by for Coq au Vin if they start fighting) and five gentle, thoughtful Turkeys. I'm really not at all sure how they will get on sharing indoor space with no sky or grass.
