So remember our supporter show yesterday where I talked about our scheduled first vacation in over a year to Hawaii, supposed to leave tomorrow AM? State of Hawaii requires COVID testing from select approved partners no earlier than 72hrs prior to departure. We used an approved company called Vault Health which does home testing, shipped UPS overnight air, on Wed. Heard from UPS that the shipment was delayed in Kentucky due to weather, NO ETA on delivery 😭
No local testing options that are fast enough, and they would have been $250 per person even if they were available (there's 4 of us).
Vault Health may not refund our $120/person testing fee, even though we can't go on vacation.
Really bummed right now. Maui businesses don't get our patronage, Vault Health gets free money, and my kids are so sad but will get over it. First world problems...FUCK COVID ✈️
Mrs. DoggMD and I hiked up to the top of a crazy temple and cemetery called Otani Sobyo above Kyoto this morning. Pure madness 🔥 and HELLLA G-HOSTS!
Had a wonderful vacation in Jackson, Wyoming with my daughter Kathy, granddaughter Ava (few senior pictures included) and 19 year old granddaughter Jessica (Junior at Michigan Technical University in Houghton, MI studying engineering). We rode horses, saw a rodeo, went white water rafting, saw the broadway show “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, went hiking and almost tried mountain climbing! Lighting took that scary activity off the list to my immense relief!!! It was a really beautiful and unforgettable vacation!!!
Oh yes! It started when Zubin mentioned Scottish Highlands, Cathy and Heathcliffe. I didn't find Heathcliffe but I think I found Cathy - taking selfies on a cliff edge at Neist Point on Skye. I found the the best beach in the world up there and took a picture of my Boy and Dog. Then today I drove through the thundery fog of barren Yorkshire Moors looking again for Zubin's Cathy. I didn't find her but I did find @katiehodak and the formidable Nora Batty. The End. Summer 2026 Still looking for Cathy
