I think I’m done running crazy 50 mile races now. They are too hard on my older body. We have more muscles and tendons in our legs and back than I wanted to know about🤣🤣🤣I did finish my race about 22 minutes before cutoff which was 9:40 pm yesterday. My time was 14 hours, 28 minutes, 53 seconds. Only 82 of us finished out of 106 who started. The cold wind was NNW at 20-45 MPH for about 30 miles so many people quit early. It was pushing me to the right and backwards as I went north so I had to bend forward and walk as fast as possible. Lake Huron was so beautiful though! For the last mile of the race, my back cramped so bad that I had to shove my left fist into my left side to stop the cramp and keep going straight (instead of veering left which marginally helped as the finish line picture shows)! I did manage to smile at the end and I’m proud to say I finished a 50 mile Ultramarathon at the age of 67! I think I stick to shorter races from now on, like 26.2 miles or 50K😊
