Last night I sat with the dog. She was watching the shadow of my hand on the wall and finally she noticed that the shadows seemed to be directed by my hand. She gave me such an odd look - how was I controlling the shadows. Now it gets weird - how could I explain to Dog that I wasn't directing the shadows. That the shadow and the matching hand were connected, more than connected, they were the same one thing and really it was the separation that was a trick of the light. Not really a trick - just an effect. Just the way we comprehend what we see in this world. I feel that if Dog could really get her head around this there might be some slight hope that I could get my head around this Life thing too - because ultimately it is connectedness dressed up as apparent separation. And then, on this sunny pathless path the world showed me these shadows it had made connecting the trees to the other trees, to the flowers and sky. Connecting all the things and I gave the world such an odd look. Like a dog might give to a person making shadows on a wall.

The Best Sheepdog/ Nurse went above and beyond today nursing the Biggest Newborn Lamb Ever to life! It's the size of the dog. Somehow after Special Flash Care, hairdryer, heat lamp, towels and bottles and against all odds, both sheep and lamb are back together now and in the field.
